Project scope was to remove elderly, unreliable blowers with modern, reliable, efficient units whilst upgrading the control system to suit the new machines.

The old installation - note the covers removed from the acoustic enclosures to try and prevent overtemperature trips... This made the blowerhouse noisy and very hot.

They served their time well, but new turbomachinery has come a long way in 20years with advances in aerodynamics and electronics.

A month or so later... 4 new VSD Air-Bearing Turbo Compressors installed and running very well

There's still some tidying up to do, but the site is already reaping the benefits of the efficient and reliable machinery.
